CMSs are like potato chips, most marketers can’t have just one

Websites have become much more agile, thanks to the evolution of content management systems (CMSs) that have put design closer to the source of content, often in-house. As such, the choice of which CMS to use has become an important one for marketers, who are often choosing multiple platforms to meet different needs.

A new survey has found the average enterprise marketer today uses two CMSs to handle its digital needs, and the IT and marketing department are often balancing the decision. The survey of 300 business decision-makers was carried out in October by market researcher Vanson Bourne, and commissioned by Manifesto and WP Engine.

More than half the enterprise marketers today use multiple CMSs to handle their websites, and are often deploying one of the two top products in the market: WordPress and Adobe Experience manager. But when choosing a second CMSs, WordPress is the top pick among those who are not already using it as their primary CMS.

Check out this slideshow with the topline results of the survey, “WordPress Success Among Enterprise CMSs.”
