In just one word, how would you describe digital marketing today?

Exponential.

How do you see the role of social media evolving in the digital era?

Socialnomics will become a reality where we, as consumers, can rely on friends and peer recommendations for purchases, saving us research time, headaches and hassle.

Socialnomics = word of mouth on digital steroids or World of Mouth (TM).

What do you consider the most exciting developments in marketing and communications today?

Voice search and other Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications.

Do you think people are more aware of their digital footprints and online reputations now than they were two years ago?

Absolutely people are more aware of their online reputations. My hope is this increased awareness is in part because they read my book, What Happens in Vegas Stays on YouTube, or their children have read What Happens on Campus Stays on YouTube. People are realizing their digital stamps (digital footprint + digital shadow) are their reputation today.
