So how do you make that happen? A report by dotmailer Boosting Your Open Rates explores how to boost open rates and improve engagement with better emails.

Make your subject line stand out.

Make it funny, interesting — anything but generic to get the reader’s attention.

Choose the right audience for your email.

Segment your list and cater to the customer’s specific needs and desires. Don’t “batch and blast” potential customers, personalize their messages.

Avoid spam.

Use a spam checker first and make sure the reader knows the email is from your company.

Don’t forget mobile.

According to the report, 55 percent of emails is now opened on a mobile device, so a mobile-friendly design is now essential.

Don’t hide your unsubscribe button.

Don’t take it personally, but some may want to stop receiving emails from you.
