WP Engine Summit 2021: What It Means to Digital Marketers

Eileen SmithJune 22, 2021

This Thursday, June 24th, is WP Engine Summit/2021, a free all-virtual event that digital marketers (or at least those interested in hearing about trends shaping our digital world) should definitely attend.

You can register here.

Aside from hearing insights and experiences from agencies, brands and industry experts in the field, there will also be plenty of breakout sessions and networking opportunities without the awkward small talk. You’ll learn about new technologies, cutting-edge research, and best practices concerning e-commerce and headless architecture.

This year’s featured keynote speaker, Reshma Saujani, is an activist, bestselling author, and relentless advocate for women and girls’ economic empowerment as well as closing the tech industry’s gender gap. She’s also the founder and CEO of the international non-profit Girls Who Code.

According to the National Center for Women & Information Technology, the turnover rate for women in tech is more than twice as high as it is for men. And only 5% of leadership positions are currently held by women.

What Marketers Want

There’s marketing wisdom sprinkled throughout the entire conference, but a few particular sessions within the technology, agency and brands tracks caught our attention.

  • The Ultimate Guide to Optimizing Your WooCommerce Website: As every e-commerce business knows, the open-source platform WooCommerce is about more than setting up your storefront and product sales. It’s about providing an awesome customer experience from beginning to end. In this session, you’ll learn about tools and techniques to fine-tune your store.
  • How WordPress is Enterprise Grade: Enterprise businesses have traditionally been skeptical of solutions like WordPress for their content management systems, opting instead for expensive and proprietary solutions. This session takes a look at how WordPress became one of the go-to platforms for enterprise and large-scale organizations.
  • Headless 101: Everything You Wanted to Know and More! Headless (or decoupled) technology offers a range of tools that can easily publish content across multiple platforms. An impressive 64% of enterprise organizations currently use a headless approach. Find out about the latest emerging trends and best practices.
