That’s right, WordPress Co-founder and Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg will be joined by Lead Architect of Gutenberg; Developer Experience team at Automattic, Matías Ventura as the two discuss what’s next for WordPress and the modern WordPress editing experience.

Registration is now open for the free, all-virtual event, which will be held on March 21 (for U.S. and APAC time zones) and March 23 (for EMEA).

Dedicated to helping WordPress users build and grow successful websites with WordPress, DE{CODE} is an excellent way to learn about the latest WordPress tools and features, as well as new technology trends, helping you meet evolving customer needs and expectations. During the conference, you’ll discover:

  • How to build smarter with WordPress across all development stages
  • How to maximize conversions and improve site performance
  • How to modernize experiences using headless technologies

In addition to insights from agencies, industry experts and speakers, the event will include a dozen breakout sessions. You can view the full speaker lineup and agenda here.

Hear from the Experts

At DE{CODE}2023, you’ll hear from industry experts and WordPress leaders about how to leverage the wide ecosystem of WordPress tools and integrations. You’ll also discover methods and strategies available to tap into higher e-commerce conversions and website performance.

Keynote Sessions

In addition to the keynote session with Mullenweg and Ventura, leaders from Google and WP Engine will present the following keynote sessions:

How Technology has Shaped the Power Dynamics Between Designers, Developers & Marketers

Jason Cohen, CIO & Founder, WP Engine

WordPress turns 20 this year, which means developers, designers, and marketers have been working behind the scenes to build, design and create content for websites for two decades. Continuous change in content consumption and tension between the important teams that work in WordPress means creating websites hasn’t always been easy, and certainly comes with its own challenges today. We’ll take a quick look back at what the world of site creation in WordPress looked like in 2003, look at where we are today, and most importantly—will look ahead to what the next decade looks like for those who will innovate with WordPress and craft another generation’s worth of content.

Go Beyond with Headless Powered by Atlas

Jason Konen, Director of Product, WP Engine

It’s time to get serious about headless solutions. See how real businesses and agencies are creating headless web experiences that give developers the flexibility to use any front-end stack and enable content creators to use their preferred publishing interface. We’ll recap the advancements we’ve made with Atlas, WP Engine’s headless WordPress solution, in 2022, and will give you a sneak peak of how we plan to iterate and push beyond what’s possible in 2023.

Privacy Sandbox for Web: The Changing Privacy Landscape and Impact to Your Sites

Sam Dutton, Developer Advocate, Google

Chrome will be making privacy changes through the Privacy Sandbox initiative throughout 2023, while building new technology to keep user information private. Simultaneously, web publishers and brands are shifting their digital strategy to help preserve ad revenue and valuable marketing analytics that rely on 3rd party cookies. This push toward expanded browser privacy is driving more demand for website personalization. In this session, Google will go over the changes that are coming, share goals of the Privacy Sandbox initiative, and help you better understand how you can pivot to ensure you have the data you need to help keep your business and sites moving forward.

Breakout Sessions

In addition to the keynote sessions, DE{CODE}2023 will feature 12 expert-led breakout sessions. Here are just a few topics geared toward digital marketers:

  • Demystifying of Core Web Vitals for WordPress
  • Stay on Top of Performance and Security in 2023
  • How Agencies Use Headless Tech to Solve Technical Challenges and Win New Projects
